South Wales FA affiliation fees 2020/21

Published by swfa on

The Association has considered its fee structure for affiliations for season 2020/21. We are cognisant that season 2019/20 was curtailed and that at the time of writing, it is uncertain how much of season 2020/21 will actually be played.

We are conscious of the costs that clubs have incurred and the strain on their usual income streams and wish to look at offering support to clubs for the coming season. We are also pleased to see the gestures made by various leagues already with regards to discounts, refunds and grants offered to support clubs. In addition, the actions of several local authorities in cancelling or refunding pitch fees is also very welcome and greatly appreciated.

The Association has therefore decided that no affiliation fees will be charged for any clubs or leagues in season 2020/21 who are renewing SWFA affiliation from season 2019/20. New clubs will be required to pay the standard fees as outlined on COMET as will existing clubs who are entering teams in different sections. The fee structure for season 2021/22 will be reviewed and considered next summer.

Furthermore, we recognise that the Association Cup competitions were not able to be completed for season 2019/20 and that clubs had paid to enter the competition that was not completed. It has therefore been decided that the teams that had not been knocked out of the Senior Cup, Saturday & Sunday Intermediate Cups and Women’s Cup at the time the season was curtailed will be permitted free entry to the same competition for season 2020/21. Owing to the requirements of the COMET system, clubs will be required to enter the competition and pay the relevant fee which will then be refunded by the Association.
